The human brain is a fabulous creation of God.

Do you ever give your brain rest?

There are many studies and questions about

  • the brain
  • brain diseases
  • brain injuries.

Many scientist and doctors have come to believe that sleep and brain development cannot be separated.

King David had this to say about sleep when he wrote the Psalms, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalms 4:8) King David referred to sleep as a safe place. The King also wrote, “It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.” (Psalms 127:2)

Here are some human brain facts. The brain uses a quarter of the body’s entire energy supply, yet only accounts for about two percent of the body’s mass.  Sleep and how a human brain functions cannot be ignored.

The video below shows Jeff Iliff, a neuroscientist, who explores the unique functions of the brain and sleep.

Dr. Caroline Leaf is one of the world’s most renowned brain surgeons who has done extensive research about the brain, especially from a biblical perspective. Life Outreach International has some profound DVD’s of one of her presentations done on the television program, “Life Today”. They are well worth watching.
